Hello, my name is Kyra.

Welcome, Occupational Therapy Practitioners (OTPs) and Healthcare Professionals! Thank you for taking the time to preview and complete my learning module. I am Kyra Mann, a doctoral student in Occupational Therapy at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences.

My passion for Occupational Therapy grew during my time as a Rehabilitation Aide at a Children’s Hospital, where I observed the challenges, patients faced regarding hair grooming. This experience ignited my commitment to educating OTPs and advocating for appropriate hair care products and styling tools that benefit curly hair. My journey from Rehabilitation Aide to doctoral student is driven by my goal to provide educational materials that help bridge the gap in healthcare related to curly hair care.
