The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) has provided me with the opportunity to observe, conduct a needs assessment, and develop educational resources for a quality improvement study. This study aims to enhance occupational therapy practitioners' awareness, confidence, and knowledge in performing ADL hair-grooming interventions for patients with textured hair from Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities

The occupational therapy practitioners at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia were inspiring, welcoming, and friendly during my 14-week capstone experience. They generously shared their time, expertise, support, knowledge, compassion, and invaluable wisdom.
